Each Yoga Bali Journey is uniquely crafted, taking you from the mountain slopes of Batukaru to the rice fields of Ubud or Sidemen, and finally to the beaches on Bali’s eastern coast.
We select 2-3 locations from the retreat and resort options below, each offering a distinct experience:

A Coffee Plantation estate by a Volcano
Nestled on the serene southeastern slopes of Mount Batukaru and owned by Beate’s close friend Kentri, this enchanting organic coffee estate and retreat center offers a true escape from modern life. Surrounded by 5 hectares of protected jungle, it’s a hidden gem where you can reconnect with nature and take in breathtaking views of Bali and beyond.
The yoga shala overlooks the entire island, with mesmerizing red sunrises reflecting off Bali’s iconic Mount Agung. It’s the perfect setting for your yoga teacher training or yoga holiday, where the food is divine, and the energy is simply magical.

Meditation Retreat on the River Jungles of Sideman
Set against terraced rice fields and overlooking the serene Unda River, this retreat center is cradled by lush green hills in the untouched beauty of East Bali. Nirarta is nestled in Sidemen’s lush river valley, just a short journey from the mountains and the sea, surrounded by tree-covered hills and the sacred peak of Gunung Agung.
The atmosphere and views are truly breathtaking—many visitors are moved to tears upon arrival. Sidemen is a charming market village, primarily known for weaving and farming, with minimal tourist influence. The climate is pleasantly warm with a refreshing coolness that enhances the peacefulness of this magical setting.

Eco Beach Retreat
Bali’s best-kept secret, Pondok Pisang, is a charming, family-run boutique sanctuary tucked away in East Bali’s peaceful Karangasem region. Owned by Beate’s dear friend Desa, who has called Bali home for over 50 years, this oasis is set within a tranquil coconut grove and boasts its own private white sand beach, perfect for swimming and snorkeling, far from the bustling tourist areas.
The spacious yoga halls on the upper floor overlook lush gardens and the ocean, equipped with Iyengar props like wall ropes, chairs, and horses for a fully supported practice. The restaurant celebrates the authentic flavors of East Bali, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and a new vegetarian menu to nourish both body and soul.

Village by the Sea
Owned by Beate’s dear friend and former business partner Vivi and her family, this serene seaside resort is hidden away on Bali’s far eastern coast in Amed. Here, private beachfront accommodations offer an old-world charm amidst breathtaking natural beauty, with rugged mountains as a backdrop and a tranquil sea right in front—perfect for relaxation and exploration.
Amed is renowned for its stunning snorkeling and diving spots, and you can dive or snorkel right off the beach at the resort. The area also holds some of Bali’s oldest villages, rich with ancient temples, traditional rituals, and unique Balinese music. The resort can arrange authentic cultural interactions with local villagers and excursions to nearby heritage sites, making it an ideal escape for those seeking Bali’s natural beauty and deep cultural roots.
